The Parole Board of Canada has granted day parole to a man convicted of killing an Okotoks teen.
Tristan Ryan, who changed his name from Bradley Paetsch, was convicted of first-degree murder in the January 23rd, 1991, stabbing death of 16-year-old Stephanie Spooner in her home.
After an in-person hearing earlier this month the parole board voted to allow Ryan 72-hour absences from prison for a period of six months.
He was granted full parole in 2018 but was sent back to prison for parole violations.
A request for day parole in 2022 was denied.
Ryan is not to have any contact with the victim’s family and to report any relationships with females to his parole officer.
