Lots of thrills and spills this weekend in Okotoks.

It's the 25th Okotoks Pro Rodeo and Society President Renne Reidy says besides the major events there's others that are a lot of fun.

"We have our wild pony races, we have our mutton busters and that's a super fun event," she says. "We had so many entries this year we had to turn some away which is really sad."

Friday night is Veterans Night with a salute to vets, and it's also Family Night with discounts for families.

Reidy says they wouldn't be able to put on the rodeo if it weren't for the help of the community volunteers and sponsors.

Some of the best competitors in the country will be there trying to solidify their place in the standings and get a trip to the finals.

It gets started at 7 Friday and Saturday night and at noon Sunday at the Murray arena.
