A change in the program for Saturday, October 1, Literacy for Life, "Grate Groan Up Spelling Bee" at the Wales Theatre in High River.

Foothills MP John Barlow won't be able to do his usual hosting job, so it falls to Turner Valley Councillor Barry Crane.

"I was honoured that John Barlow called me up and offered me the spot. I did a lot of stuff for 'Lit-For-Life' when I was a stay at home dad. Rhythm and Rhyme, Mommy and Me and so on. I did it all, so it's great to help with a great fundraiser for them. It's a great cause."

Crane says he's excited to see who comes out on top between High River and Okotoks Town Council as they'll be pitted against each other with bragging rights on the line.

The event runs from 12:30 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Wales, with all the money raised going to Literacy for Life.
