The Town of High River just recently launched a new campaign aimed at attracting new businesses, residents and visitors.

The Manager of Economic Development Jodi Dawson says the new High Praises campaign wants to turn around people's perception of the town.

"Primarily in the way of celebrating everything that's great," she says. "So we're reclaiming the positive definition of the word high."

'High Life' represents the town's high quality of living, 'High Noon' for the town's western themed events like Little Britches and the chuckwagon races, and 'High Returns" which should be of interest to investors.

She says once people get a first hand look at the town they're very impressed.

"This has always been a beautiful, dynamic engaged community with way more amenities than anybody assumes if they haven't been here," Dawson says. "One of the common comments I hear, whether they be visitors or people coming to shop, is boy, we didn't realize this place had so much to offer."

He says an awful lot of work has been done over the last three years and it's time to get the message out to the world.

There's a new website to go with the campaign with resources on investing or relocating to the town and on special events like the recent Show and Shine or the Balloon Festival.  The campaign also has video's to show off what the town has to offer and invest in.

Dawson says the campaign will go at least until next spring after which they'll evaluate it again.
