UFA Hits the Century Mark!

UFA celebrated 100 years of incorporation.

United Farmers of Alberta has played an important role in the Province as a lobby group, a political party, and a farm-supply retail chain.

The UFA political party was in power from 1921 to 1935, and secured mineral rights for Alberta.

Maple Leaf Foods has invested in North America's largest insect farm for human consumption.

Entomo Farms is based in Norwood, Ontario, and has grown to 60,000 square feet of production space.

They produce cricket and mealworm powders and whole roasted insects as an alternative source of protein.

 

Share Your Farm Baby Photos This Spring

Ag for Life's farm babies photo contest is back for another year.

People can submit photos of their farm animals born between January and June of this year by using #FarmBabies18 on social media.

CEO of Ag for Life, Luree Williamson, says the contest celebrates the countless hours of work that farmers spend caring for their new arrivals.

 

Learn About the Farm Without Leaving the City

Aggie Days at the Calgary Stampede Grounds is open to the public this weekend, April 14 to 15.

They're expecting over 30,000 visitors at the free event this weekend, where people can learn about the farm without leaving the city.

Visitors will be able to meet farm animals, as well as participate in educational activities.
