Agri-Trade in Red Deer is Shortening the Show

The Agri-Trade Equipment Exposition in Red Deer will now be a bit shorter.

Since 1984, the show has ran Wednesday through Saturday in the second week of November, but Show Manager, Dave Fiddler says, the show will now run just Wednesday to Friday.

Fiddler says, survey results showed 71 per cent of exhibitors were in favour of shortening the show by one day.

Canada's Ag Minister Speaks in Nashville

Federal Ag Minister, Lawrence MacAulay, was the first ever Canadian Ag Minister to address the American Farm Bureau Federation Convention.

He did so over the weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.

MacAulay reiterated the importance of NAFTA as an engine of growth and prosperity for Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

U.S. President Trump was also scheduled to address the Conference Monday afternoon.

Key Trends to Watch for in 2018

Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is outlining a number of key trends to watch for in 2018.

One of those is "A Strong Balance Sheet is the Best Farm Asset."

Craig Klemmer, Principle Ag Economist with FCC, says having a good balance sheet means you have lots of oppurtunites.

Another one of FCC's key trends for 2018 is "Adding Value to Canadian Farm Products".
