New technology has made it possible to receive a text message about an hour before your cow calves.

Moocall is sensor that attaches to the cow's tail and measures contractions.

The sensor then sends a text directly to your phone.

CN Rail in Need of a New CEO

CN Rail's CEO is stepping down, amid the rail backlog that has angered many customers including farmers.

Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer, Jean-Jacques Ruest, will replace Luc Jobin in the interim.

The board says, it recognizes the immediate operational and customer service challenges the company has been facing since the fall.

Alberta Ag Minister Says Senate Should Pass Bill C-49

Alberta's Agriculture Minister said on Facebook, he's heard producers' concerns about grain shipments and has spoken to rail companies.

Oneil Carlier says, the Senate should send a clear message and pass Bill C-49, also known as the Transportation Modernization Act.

Ag Meteorologist Concerned About Dry Conditions

World Weather Inc's Senior Ag Meteorologist, Drew Lerner, has concerns about the dry conditions across the prairies.

Lerner says, he's worried that some regions won't be able restore subsoil moisture until late in the season, or not until the warm weather hits.

However, he thinks most areas that are dry will get enough precipitation to put some seeds in the ground this spring.
