4-H Premier Award Winner

Alberta's 2018 4-H Premier Award winner has been chosen.

Evan Jamieson from Dalemead has been a member of the Bow Valley Beef and Multi Club for nine years, and is keeping busy with his market steer and beef heifer projects this year.

He will represent 4-H Alberta at various 4-H and ag events, and will get the chance to meet with Premier Notley and Minister of Agriculture, Oneil Carlier.

 

HOC Ag Committee Studies Technology and Research in the Sector

Last week, the House of Commons Agriculture Committee toured around Canada to see the advancements of technology and research in the ag sector.

The tour included stops in B.C., Saskatchewan, Quebec and Ontario.

Conservative Shadow Agriculture Minister's John Barlow and Luc Berthold say, the trip was important to see how the government can better facilitate growth and progress for Canada's ag sector.

 

Ag Minister on Trade Mission in China

Federal Ag minister, Lawrence MacAulay, is in China where he will meet with leading Chinese companies and participate in roundtable discussions.

On the trade mission, he'll meet with the Chinese Minister of Agriculture to discuss continued co-operation between the two countries and advocate for expanded market access for Canadian pork, beef and canola.

The mission started yesterday and will wrap up on Friday.
