400 Acres Donated to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank

Viterra is donating roughly 400 acres of land around six of its grain terminals in Alberta and Saskatchewan to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

The land will be farmed by volunteers, and the proceeds of the crop are used for initiatives to end world hunger.

The Viterra terminals in Alberta donating land are in Lethbridge, Trochu and Stettler.

 

4-H Members Head North for Ag Tour

Twenty four 4-H members from across Alberta will be visiting the North West Territories on an Agriculture Development Tour in August.

The youth won their spot on the trip at 4-H Selections at Olds College earlier this month.

The delegates will gain a better understanding of the diversity in agricultural production and culture.

 

Young Guns Contest is Back!

The Alberta Beef Producers Annual Young Guns contest is back.

The contest is for young people ages 8 to 21 involved in the beef industry, with a $1000 grand prize.

Last Day for China Ag Trade Mission

The Federal Agriculture Minister's trade mission to China wraps up today.

On the week-long trade mission, Minister Lawrence MacAulay met with leading Chinese companies and the Ag Minister of China.
