Would You Eat Lab Meat Made From Human Cells?

Would you eat a Brad Pitt burger? Not made by him, but literally made from him!

John Masswohl with the Canadian Cattlemen's Association says that's a possibility, after attending an international meat industry gathering in Paris last week.

"I saw some presentations over there of other things that are being developed. They're now saying they can produce that laboratory product using all kinds of different animal cells, including human cells. Maybe even have it made from your favourite celebrity."

He says, they're not against new technology, but there's some ground rules that need to be laid out if they want to sell these lab grown products as meat.

Canadian Foodgrains Bank Recognized For Their Humanitarian Efforts

The Canadian Foodgrains Bank is being recognized for its social return on investment.

The organization has been included on the charity intelligence 2018 list of the top 10 charities in Canada.

On average, charities in Canada provide two dollars in social benefit for every dollar received, whereas that number is six for the Foodgrains Bank.

In the 2017-2018 budget year, the Foodgrains Bank provided over $37 million of assistance for over 800,000 people in 34 countries.

 

Viterra Acquires A Crush Plant in Washington

Viterra is has acquired an oilseed processing facility in Warden, Washington.

It produces a variety of healthy canola oils to and as well as meal products that are sold for pork, poultry, dairy and cattle feed.
