New Cannabis Legislation to Benefit Hemp Sector

Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay, announced an investment of over $330,000 to the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance.

The investment will help to develop industry grading standards to ensure Canadian hemp products are known globally as being of the highest quality.

Driving Away Hunger

The Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Drive Away Hunger campaign will be touring the country with a tractor and trailer to collect food and cash donations for Canadian food banks.

The tractor and trailer will stop in Lloydminster and Lethbridge next month.

FCC is also contributing $100,000 to school meal programs across the country.

 

Alberta Canola Contributes to Research Funding

The Alberta Canola Producers Comission is contributing over $1.5 million to the new Canola Agri-Science Cluster.

Alberta Canola Chair, Renn Breitkreuz, says putting money towards the $20 million research cluster is essential to solve agronomic challenges like clubroot, blackleg and flea beetles.

 

Sharing the Road During Harvest

Ag for Life is reminding drivers to share the road and be patient as farm equipment is moving from field to field during harvest.

They say, to leave a 50 foot space between the slow moving equipment your following and your vehicle.
