US President-Elect Donald Trump has stated his desire to re-negotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) after he takes office, and that has some Canadian politicians and farm groups concerned.

John Masswhol, Director of International Relations with the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, says while the uncertainty of what could happen to the agreement is worrying, all we can do at this point is wait.

"What's been good for the United States about NAFTA? What could be improved?...What would be the implications if the United States were to with draw from NAFTA? I feel pretty confident that the end result of that will be that the Commerce Department says to President Trump, 'Mr. President, NAFTA has been very good for the United States," stated Masswhol.

Masswhol added he's very confident that the US Commerce Department will look at NAFTA and inform Trump on how it benefits all parties, especially the United States.
