Deliveries of canola variety 46A76 will be eligible for any grade until August 1st this year, even though the variety's registration has been cancelled.

The Alberta Canola Producers Commission says, they knew about the cancellation last spring, but many growers didn't hear about it until this winter after the variety's registration had been cancelled.

Under the Canada Grain Act, any deliveries of unregistered varieties are to be given the lowest grade, but the Canadian Grain Commission has made the exception for variety 46A76, allowing producers to clear their stock without penalty.

Due to gaps in the notification process, delivers of canola variety 46A76 can receive any grade if delivered before August 1, 2018.
