It might seem early in the season yet, but there are farmers out in their fields busy planting this year's crops.

Agriculture Fieldman for the County of Vulcan, Kelly Malmberg says he's started to see some early season activity.

"Out in the Lomond country and maybe south, there's a few guys that have started seeding. But, generally we're going into the spring a little wetter than normal. So we are going to be a little bit later. Some guys are out just starting to do some fieldwork, like harrowing. A little bit of seeding, but not much."

Malmberg says he expects to see activity increase in the next 10 days to two weeks as farmers hurry to get their crops in the ground.
