On Tuesday, Federal and B.C. Provincial politics gathered in Vancouver to discuss recovery efforts for B.C. residents.

The B.C. Minister of Agriculture, Lana Popham, and the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-food, Lawrence MacAulay, announced the 2017 Canada-British Columbia Wildfires Recovery Initiative under the AgriRecovery Framework.

MacAulay says, the governments will stand with producers who have withstood the wide reaching damage caused by the wildfires.

"We remain committed to working with producers and the province to ensure we meet the needs of those who have been affected and help them get back to business as soon as possible."

The initiative will provide up to $20 million in assistance for producers, and the investment will be cost-shared 60:40 between the Canadian and B.C. Governments.
