There were a number of issues keeping the Canadian Federation of Agriculture busy over the past year.

"I think the big one was all of the work that was done, not only with ourselves, but with all of the farm organizations on the grain transportation issue and getting Bill C-49 passed," said CFA President Ron Bonnett.

Bonnett says trade deals such as the USMCA and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) were also key for the industry over the past year.

He adds issues surrounding labour was also a big focus in 2018, along with the federal carbon tax.
