It was the third generation of Flewelling Cattle Co. who won the Western National Mark of Excellence Hereford Grand Champion Female at Farm Fair in Edmonton last week.

Nathan Flewelling from Bowden owns the 2017 heifer FCC 2012 Betty 18E half and half with his Grandpa.

Flewelling says, the heifer has a number of qualities which make her stand out.

"Her spring of rib, her masculine qualities, when she gets out and moves she's nice in that area, and she's just very eye appealing with nice hair."

Flewelling says, he's also had success with the heifer at other shows.

"She was my 4-H heifer this year and we won that show, and then we took her to a show in Olds and won that, and then we brought her here with five other animals and she won here too, so that's pretty good."

Flewelling adds, he's been showing cattle at Farm Fair since he was six years old.

Flewelling Cattle Co. also won Grand Champion Hereford Bull with their 2018 bull calf FCC 13D Real Time 10F.

Farm Fair International ran from November 6-11 bringing international buyers to Edmonton where breeders showed and sold top quality livestock.
