Sustainability Resources is looking for presenters and exhibitors for their Okotoks and Region Rural Innovation Forum. The event will be held November 30, and will feature presentations and workshops.

Jennifer Neufeld, Program Assistant with Sustainability Resources, says they will cover topics such as water reuse, green infrastructure, transportation and municipal energy solutions, and sustainable urban development.

"The Rural Innovation Forums are designed to connect the municpal leaders and community with the innovators that are available to show some different solutions to sustainable concerns, whether it's economic, environmental, or social. It's coming out of a program called the Rural Prosperity Initiative, a multi year program we have to identify and implement some clean technology solutions to create new economic opportunties with reduced environmental impact."

Lisa Fox, Executive Director with Sustainability Resources, says they usually have five to ten exhibitors set up at the event, and about eight presenters.

"Typical exhibitors are those folks with technical innovative solutions to water waste and energy. We also get some of the service providers, whether their agencies like the Canada Green Building Council for example, that would like to be able to be on site and provide information to folks that are attending."

Fox says, they are looking to create important relationships across the sector.

"These Rural Innovation Forums attract industry leaders in agriculture that are involved in cattle, grain producers, water planning, green buildings, alternative transportation, or have alternative energy solutions."

If you're interested in becoming a presenter, you can send a 200 word abstract of your presentation to jennifer@sustainabilityresources.ca by 5:00pm September 30.
