Last week's showers across all regions of the province put a damper on harvest progress.

According to Alberta Agriculture and Forestry's latest Crop Report for August 28th, harvest is just over 10 per cent complete in Alberta, compared to the roughly 18 per cent completed at this time last year.

The cooler weather last week led to unwelcomed frost in some areas, and lingering smoke from the B.C. fires in Southern Alberta hindered the sunlight from drying crops.

The report also shows generally poor pasture conditions haven't changed much since the previous assessment, adding there's little hope for second cut hay at this point.
