The National Western Stock Show is underway in Denver, Colorado.

The sixteen day event is held every January featuring over 20 cattle breed shows.

Back when the show started in 1906, the Grand Champion Steer brought 33 cents per pound.

One hundred years later, the Grand Champion Steer went for $58 dollars a pound, totalling $75,000 at the same show.

When the stock show opened it's doors to the public Saturday, January 12, they set a new opening Saturday attendance record of 53,806 guests.
