A world record was set at the Farming Smarter Conference in Lethbridge on Wednesday, December 12.

People crowded around a row of tables to hand thresh wheat, separating the grain from the chaff.

Farming Smarter Assistant Manager, Jamie Puchinger, says they hope other conferences will jump on board.

"There wasn't a record yet, so the hope is that now that we've done this, we can encourage other conferences, or other people to try and break our record. Then we'll go back and forth and keep trying to do better."

The record set for hand threshing wheat is 365 grams of clean seed in one minute.
