Alley Taylor and her horse Kyro will be among the participants at the 4H parade.

A year's worth of hard work all comes down to this weekend.

4-H On Parade runs Friday May 29th through Sunday May 31st at the Stampede grounds in Calgary and close to 200 kids in the Foothills are set to participate.

Brenda Taylor oversees the Okotoks Outriders, one of the 4-H clubs participating, and says there's a lot of excitement about the next few days.

"It's the thing they look forward to all year long," she says. "It's the event that they work all year to show all the things they've been learning."

There are events for horses, cows, sheep and other livestock as well as cooking and archery.

Taylor also says having the competition on the Stampede grounds in Calgary is the icing on the cake.

"They're probably some of the luckiest kids in the country that they get that venue to bring down their project they've been working on and display them," she says. "It takes your breath
away being down there because it's just such a magnificent facility."

There are 17 4-H clubs in the Foothills, 15 of them will compete in events over the weekend.
