A nine year old swimmer from Okotoks made waves at the 2016 provincial championships.

Summer Fedor broke four ten under records at the competition, in 50 Free, 100 Free, 50 Fly, and 100 Fly.

She also won a medal in all seven events she swam in, 3 golds, 3 silvers and a bronze.

Summer is a top five under 10 swimmer in Alberta, and she doesn't plan on stopping there.

"My goal is pretty much to get to the Olympics." she says.

The fourth grader is a member of the Foothill Stingrays Swim Club, she practices five days a week with them and thoroughly enjoys it.

"My favourite part of swimming with the Foothills Stingrays is I meet new friends, there's a lot of competitions, and I get to win things."

Summer says at provincials she told herself to stay low and go all out, and it definitely worked. She says sometimes she has to go really fast to chase other swimmers down, but she loves having the lead in a race.

The nine year old says she wants to thank her coach Emma Hesterman, saying she's a great coach that gets her on track with her strokes and technique.
