Training camp opens Friday August 26 for the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Fans will notice a number of changes from the clearer view with the side netting down to the new line-up on the ice with a number of departures from last year's team.

Coach Tyler Deis will lead the team again behind the bench after signing a five-year contract extension, that with options, could keep him in Okotoks a couple of seasons after that.

The Oilers' first exhibition game is Tuesday, August 30 in Calgary against the new-look Canucks at 1:00 p.m. at Max Bell.

They're back home at the Centennial Arena Wednesday, August 31 against the Wisconsin Lumberjacks from the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

That one starts at 2:00 p.m. and it's free.
