The Town of Okotoks is cautioning residents of another aggressive coyote incident.

It took place in the south area of North Railway Street, according to the town.

Signs have been posted, and locals are asked to use caution in the area.

Less than a week prior to this incident, another report of an aggressive coyote was made to the town, though it took place near the Rotary Performing Arts Centre.

Coyote sightings in Okotoks are nothing new, but it's not very often that aggressive behaviour from coyotes is reported in town.

In fact, urban forest parks technician Gordon White said last week's report was the first aggressive coyote incident he'd seen during his time with the town.

Both incidents involved residents with dogs, and the town is asking people to steer clear of North Railway Street while walking their pets.

Anyone who experiences an aggressive wildlife encounter is encouraged to call the Report-A-Poacher line at 1 (800) 642-3800, or 9-1-1 if you are in danger.
