High River chuckwagon driver Brian Mayan is holding his own this year on the WPCA tour. He says it's a struggle at times and without family connections to the sport, it's even tougher. He says with many drivers into their 2nd and third generation. It takes a bit of doing to break into the sport. But he's working hard at it. He says if you don't have some sort of the support system, it's tough to break in. He says persistance pays off though as says he'll be the one in the winners circle one day soon. Mayan who finished 20th at the North American Championships in High River over the weekend hopes to move up the standings starting tonight with the first of 5 days of racing at the Ponoka Stampede.
