Okotoks curler Taylor Ardiel is on the move.

He's been frustrated by his efforts to catch onto a team here at home with a legit shot at the Brier, so he's set his sights on the Paul Dexter Team out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

"There are just so many teams here in Alberta. And the teams here, the pool of players is so deep and then when you have the super-teams like Koe and Botcher that kind of run the table, it's almost impossible to get to the Brier unless you're on one of those teams."

He'll join up with Dexter, Third Mark Rowbar and Michael Brophy.

Ardiel says he's not sure where he'll be in the line-up just yet.

"At the moment it looks like lead or second. But we're pretty much open to anything. So, we're going to try a few events to see what clicks. Since Paul and Mark have played in the past together, we'll probably keep them together. So Michael and I will interchange."

Ardiel, who won a Provincial Junior title, and a bronze medal at the National Junior Championships in 2014, says he's excited about the move and has already lined up a job and a place to live and will be heading east next week.
