Canada's Agriculture Minister chose the Foothills to announce a bio fuel initiative Monday morning.
Chuck Strahl was on the site of the Western Biodiesel Plant just north of High River next to Cargill where construction is underway. Dean Cockshutt of Western says the announcement of 2 hundred million dollars to help farmers and ranchers take part in bio fuel initiatives is good news.
"It brings additional capitol into the industry", he says, "it helps new company's like ours get equity and debt into our businesses so we can build".
Cockshutt hopes the 7 and a half million dollar plant will be up and running by late this year.
