In a game much closer than the score would indicate the Okotoks Bisons were handed a 5-2 loss at the hands of Fort St. John in the provincial junior B championship semi-final game in Wainwright Saturday (April 2).

The Bisons kicked off the scoring at 8:40 of the first on a Jaevon Buschlen goal, FSJ tied it at 10:30.  Okotoks went ahead 2-1 at 13:02 when  Adam Kirkpatrick found the back of the net.

Fort St. John tied the game at 6:15 of the 2nd stanza with a short handed goal and at 12:44 FSJ grabbed their first lead of the game on a power play.  

Okotoks, although they battled could not tie the game in the third and Fort St. John scored into an empty net twice to jet to the gold medal game today at 2:00 p.m. at the Peace Memorial multiplex in Wainwright.

The Bisons will square off against Sherwood Park this morning in the bronze medal game. 

HJHL rivals, the Cochrane Generals play for the gold medal game at 2:00 p.m.
