Chalk up another medal for the Turner Valley Braves slowpitch team at the 55+ Canada Summer Games in Brampton, Ontario this year.

The perennial champs from Turner Valley, but with players from around the Foothills, beat the Ontario Old Pros to win the gold medal at this year's event.

Player/Coach Mickey Getten says the format was a little different this year.

"We were actually in an open division down there. And we did play all the 55+ co-ed teams, and we played everybody once through the round robin. We ended up with a 4-and-4 record. And then they put us against the other open division team for the Gold/Silver game, it was a little different, but it worked out fine."

The Braves have two gold and two bronze over the last four years at the 55+ Games.
