That includes local chuckwagon drivers as they prepare for the season.

Okotoks driver Mark Sutherland says the potential outbreak of EHV-1 (Equine Herpes Virus-1) is something he saw coming.

High River driver Jason Glass says he's not sure if it will have an effect on the chuckwagon season.

Because of the threat the Little Britches Rodeo scheduled for the May long weekend in High River has been cancelled.

While Monday's parade will go ahead without horses.
