Anyone heading up to Banff over the long weekend ought to be careful.
On Wednesday, May 15, a cougar warning was put in place for the Tunnel Mountain Campgrounds and the surrounding area, just northwest of the Town of Banff.
Banff National Park posted a notification on their Facebook page, cautioning that a cougar has been seen frequenting the area.
Anyone who sees a cougar or signs of carnivore activity is asked to leave the area and notify Banff Park Dispatch at their 24-hour number: (403) 762-1470.
