Just over a thousand of those are the more contagious variants or 54 per cent of active cases.

There are now 416 people in hospital with 86 in intensive care.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw says about 20 per cent of schools have registered either alerts or outbreaks.

Over a million Albertans have received at least on dose of vaccine.
