A Southern Alberta roots artist returns to his roots.

Corb Lund says it's been a big part of his family with his grandfather winning an all round title in the thirties, his mother winning the first barrel racing title in 1959 and later was honored as a stampede pioneer.

"She's not sure what to make of it, she's not sure if she wants to be a pioneer or not", he jokes, "my dad bull dogged here lots and I rode steers here as a kid and when you're a cowboy kid growing up in Alberta, Calgary is where it's at".

Corb Lund will take to the stage at the Calgary Stampede on July 13.
