The Foothills DARE Works Society made their way to Black Diamond council last week.
DARE president, Wayne Meikle says so far he's seen a good response to their funding requests from councils in the foothills.

"I think everybody is very favourable to it. Every Council I have been through have all thought good things with lots of compliments to us. We've had a very favourable reception no matter where we went."

Black Diamond council voted to increase their yearly payment to just over 31 hundred dollars. other councils in the area are still working the increase into their budget but are expected to get on board in the weeks ahead.
