The Okotoks Dawgs snapped the Gulls' win streak at 12 games after winning 3-0 in Sylvan Lake on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Dawgs are now tied with the Gulls in the West Division standings. Dawgs have a 27-7 record, while Sylvan Lake has a 28-8 record.

Garrett Maloney started at the mound going four full innings without allowing a run and added four strikeouts.

Aaron Hammer, Zane Morrison, Trent Warstler, Greg Ross, and Ashton Luera came in as relievers. Luera would get the save after the ninth inning when he punched out all three batters from the Gulls.

The two top teams in the WCBL West Division played a tough defensive game and would go scoreless against each other until the top of the seventh when the Dawgs opened the scoring.

Barry Eiseman would get on base on a single at the top of the seventh. Jarrett Burney came in to replace Eiseman as a pinch runner. Logan Grant would then step up to the plate and hit a single which scored Burney in for a run.

Caleb Lumbard was next at-bat, and Grant used his speed like he has all season long and stole second base. Lumbard would then get on first from an error at second base and then Grant took advantage giving the Dawgs a 2-0 lead late in the game.

Dawson Santana was up to bat first at the top of the eighth and earned a walk. Later he would get to second after a Brendan Luther put out and then steal third base to get in a prime scoring position. Connor Crowson then hit a double to score Santana in for the final run of the game.

The Dawgs will continue their three-game mini-series against the Gulls on Thursday at Seaman Stadium.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05
