After having their six-game winning streak snapped by the Miller Express in Moose Jaw Sunday night, the Okotoks Dawgs (23-15) hope to start another streak Tuesday night.

The Dawgs open up a six-game home-stand with a pair of games Tuesday and Wednesday against the Swift Current Indians (12-26), who are mired in last place in the WMBL.

Manager Brett Thomas says his team needs to use the Seaman Stadium crowd to their advantage once again.

"It's always exciting to come home," he says. "We kind-of get that playoff atmosphere starting to roll, so to play six games at home this time of year is pretty fun."

The Dawgs were a perfect 5-0 during their last home-stand, improving their record at Seaman Stadium to 12-6 heading into Tuesday's game against the Indians.

The two teams haven't played since June 13 and 14 in Swift Current, a pair of 4-2 Dawgs wins.

With the Dawgs still chasing the Lethbridge Bulls for first place in the WMBL's Alberta Division, Thomas says every win is crucial.

"We're still going to push to try to make something happen in those last two games against Lethbridge (July 30 and 31)," he says. "So, I just hope we take care of our business, and if (the Bulls) falter a little bit, we have a chance, maybe in those last two games, to win the division."

Thomas says at this point in the year, his team is clearing having a lot of fun on the field and in the dugout, which is key down the stretch.

"Knowing that everyone's involved in the game is huge for us," he says. "It's exciting, it's fun to be around these guys right now as they're starting to gel, kind-of getting to that final product we're looking for, and hopefully we can just keep rolling with the momentum of it."

The six games in a row at home are the last ones for the Dawgs, who will close out the season with four on the road.

First pitch for Tuesday's game, which is also AM 1140/High River Online night, is set for 7:05 at Seaman Stadium.
