Brooks hosted the second of back-to-back games between the Dawgs and Bombers with Okotoks coming out on top 10-6.

In the first of the back-to-back games, the Bombers got a 2-1 win in a low-scoring affair. The Dawgs responded this afternoon, getting their potent offence rolling.

Okotoks' own Broy Forno made the start on the mound and would be given the credit for the win. Forno was a strikeout machine this afternoon punching out seven Bombers in just four innings.

Cam Stephens, Aaron Hammer, Zane Morrison, Trent Warstler, and Seth Thompson came in as relievers. The pitching staff as a whole would put out 15 Bombers with strikeouts.

The Dawgs scored three runs at the top of the first inning which was more than the two previous games combined for Okotoks as they hit a little dry spell.

The top of the order for Okotoks, Brendan Luther, Ricky Sanchez, and Tucker Zdunich got on base to start the game.

Connor Crowson would be up next to bat at the top of the first with bases loaded. Crowson got the first RBI of the game after hitting a single to center field.

The Dawgs got their second run of the inning from Sanchez thanks to Jarrett Burney getting on base with a fielder choice. Tucker Zdunich would add to the lead to make it 3-0 after scoring a run shortly after in the inning.

Burney made it a 4-0 game at the top of the third when he blasted a solo home run. The Bombers however earned their first run of the game and cut the Dawgs lead back to three after getting a home run of their own in the bottom of the third.

At the top of the fourth Spencer Sullivan smashed a solo home run with the first pitch of the inning, giving the Dawgs their four-run lead back.

The Dawgs found themselves in another bases-loaded situation with Dawson Santana, Luther, and Sanchez all on base. Zdunich picked up an RBI when he stepped up to bat hitting a single to right field and getting Santana in for a run.

Logan Grant would then get on base with a fielder's choice which gave Luther enough time to score the third run of the inning and give Okotoks a 7-1 lead.

Burney continued to be a hot hand at bat getting another RBI in the afternoon game, getting Sanchez in for a run off a single to centre field.

The Bombers got a run at the bottom of the fourth but it was looking like Okotoks had the game pretty well wrapped up.

Luther picked up an RBI at the top of the fifth after a single to right field got Sullivan across home plate. The Bombers then picked up two runs in the bottom of the sixth to give Brooks life, Dawgs however scored another run at the top of the seventh.

Luther picked up his second RBI of the night after hitting a double at the top of the seventh and getting Santana in for the Dawgs' final run of the game. Bombers added another two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but it was too little, too late.

The Dawgs will have a day off tomorrow but will travel to Sylvan Lake to look for redemption against the Gulls on Tuesday (July 16) at 7:05 pm.
