Foothills County Councillor Suzanne Oel posted to Facebook this morning warning Priddis and Bragg Creek residents of a heavy police presence in the area.

RCMP and search and rescue teams are looking for 25 year old Jasmine Lovett and her 22 month old daughter Aliyah Sanderson.

Police are searching the area which the mother and daughter have no close connections to, after pinging a cell phone and finding the signal came from cell phone towers in the area.

The ongoing investigation into the pairs disappearance is currently being treated as a double homicide, after the Calgary Police have found no evidence that the pair is still alive.

Police were tipped off after Lovett and her daughter didn't turn up to a family dinner.

Using Lovett's financial information, police have found that an order was placed through Lovett's online banking on April 18,  two days after she was reported missing, but cannot tell who made the order.

In a press conference held yesterday, Calgary Police Service Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta confirmed police have taken a suspect into custody, and said Lovett and the suspect are/were known to each other.

Schiavetta also confirmed that the suspect is not Aliyah's biological father, who is not a suspect at this time and has been cooperative with police.

Investigators are currently searching a residence in Cranston as well as the area of Bragg Creek and Priddis for the pair, and are asking property owners in both areas to report any suspicious activity relating to the case.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
