Macleod's MP dismisses concerns that changes to Canadian Wheat Board elections advertising rules will sway the the vote.

Ted Menzies says Ottawa plans to remove the cap to third party intervene spending.

Menzies says the limit was an unfair advantage to those supporting the wheat board monopoly.

"It was paid for by those that did not necessarily support the monopoly", he explains, "so we just thought it was fair that all interested parties be able to contribute to the debate to get the truth out there without the monopoly itself being able to have and unfair advantage".

Menzies says as for swaying the vote, people wouldn't advertise if they didn't think there were potential results.
