Crash happened mid-afternoon Saturday. Strathmore RCMP are looking into what caused a fatal  collision at the intersection of Highway 22-X and Highway 24 Saturday. 
A southbound motorcycle collided with an eastbound Grand AM. 
The driver of the car, a 45 year old female from the Calgary area, died at the scene. The 49 year old male driver of the motorcycle, from Red Deer,  was flown by STARS to Foothills Hospital with life threatening injuries. 
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
