Factory Film Studio and Hot Shots Films, based in Edmonton, are searching for the female lead of an upcoming non-union feature film: Red Pine City. The movie centers on a reluctant enforcer who teams up with a beautiful, talented country singer to remove the scourge of a local mobster. The film is currently in pre-production.

The female lead, Kate, for which the studio is currently looking for, is envisioned as a mid-to-late 30's and she is described as a charming and talented singer/songwriter stuck in the world of bar gigs.

"Frustrated with the arc of her musical career, she seriously considers packing it in. That is until her agent arranges a lucrative gig in Red Pine city. We’re looking for an actor with emotional range and any amount of experience level. Singing/Guitar are an asset, but not required," a press release stated.

While the press release added that this role is geared towards Edmonton’s local talent, Griffin Cork, an actor, producer, and publicist encouraged everyone who is interested to come to the casting call.

"I know they are primarily looking for Edmonton area locals, but they want to see everybody in the province to find the right person. And as an actor myself, I know many performers in Alberta can work in a lot of cities as a local even if they aren’t currently based there," Cork wrote.

Red Pine City will be shooting in the Edmonton Area from November 7-26, and the actor playing Kate will be needed the whole time.

Casting will be taking place on November 1 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at The Orange Hub (10045 156 St NW, Edmonton, AB, T5P 2P7).

All those who are interested are encouraged to stop by anytime to meet the production team.

"Stop by with your headshot & resume if you have them, or with a good attitude if you don’t! Sides will be available to read on the day at the location."
