Total ad dollars were up at the Ponoka Stampede Chuckwagon Canvas Auction Friday May 6.

In total the auction brought in $389,750.00.

That's up by $13,500 from the last tarp auction held in 2019.

Reigning World and former Ponoka Stampede Champion Kurt Bensmiller and third year driver Wade Salmond were the sale toppers taking in $20,000.00 each.

As for locals; Jordie Fike brought in $10,000, Dayton Sutherland $9,250, Mark Sutherland $8,500 and Jason Glass $8,000.

Before the auction buckle presentations were made to the 2021 World Champions and Top Rookies.

All received beautiful Olson Silver Belt Buckles commemorating their achievements.
