High River fire crews come to the rescue of local restaurant.

High River fire crews were called to the Beef 'N Brew this morning.

Alma Frankow, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband Bob, dialed 911 just after ten o'clock after she turned on the grill and it started to smoke.

The fire department arrived within minutes to smoke pouring out the back of the buildiing.  Fire Chief Len Zebedee says the fire was smaller than they thought and It took them less than ten minutes to put it out.

He was certain the fire was caused by too much grease on the stove.

Alma who was alone when the fire started, was not injured.  She hoped to have the restaurant open for lunch.

Zebedee said it might take the Frankows a day or so to clean the mess up.
