People living in the M.D. of Willow Creek and the Town of Stavely are asked to be extra careful when having fires.

Due to the hot and dry conditions large parts of the province have been experiencing, both the M.D. of Willow Creek and the Town of Stavely put in fire restrictions on Tuesday, July 9th.

In the M.D. of Willow Creek, all fire permits are now cancelled, and no new ones will be issued.

Burn Barrels, backyard fire pits, incinerators, and recreational campfires that adhere to the bylaw requirements are still allowed, but the M.D. is asking people to use caution when having fires.

In the Town of Stavely, backyard fire pits and recreational campfires that meet the bylaw requirements are still allowed.

Both the Town of Stavely and the M.D. of Willow Creek may go into a full fire ban without any notice, so it is advised that people check to see if fires are allowed prior to lighting one up.
