Today was the Mosquito Creek Firefighters' Society Slo- Pitch Tournament in Nanton. The tournament fundraises money for the firefighters so that they can buy new gear. With the proceeds they fundraised last year they purchased an STAT Stanely mannequin that is used to teach first aid and rescue situations. Struts were also bought which help to stabilize vehicles and objects so they can be worked on without any worries. It's important to the firefighters that people know they equipment they buy was purchased by them with their own hard work, they don't want these funds they use to come from the community.

The Leo Club in Nanton which is a fundraising group of youth was also there today selling hamburgers and hotdogs to help the firefighters. The kids in that club really put in a lot of hard work!

It was awesome to see the town come together today in support of the fundraiser and to watch the games. Some teams even had t-shirts made with their own logos and names on them which was pretty neat. The weather was really nice today, not too hot and not too cool, so the players and spectators had a great time.

Tomorrow I'm off to the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society's first annual golf tournament at the Turner Valley golf course. I'm sure it'll be another fun day!
