Highwood High School celebrated its first French Immersion graduates on Monday June 6.

The students began the program in a Grade 2/3 split at Joe Clark School in 2001.

Shelley Zorn with Highwood High says the turnout to the celebration was great.

The Canadian Parents for French created a $200 scholarship for the French Immersion program which will be given out each year.

Graduate Kirstin Vercleyen was awarded the Outstanding Citizen Scholarship for her efforts in the Peer Tutoring Program.
