The popular event Light Up Okotoks will return this year bigger and brighter than ever to celebrate its 30th year in the community.

It will return on Friday, November 18 and with it comes a chance to support a local organization in a big way.

The Sheep River Health Trust has teamed up with the town and several local businesses to make this year's Light Up one to remember with a raffle contest called The Festive and Bright Experience.

Up for grabs is the chance for one lucky youth to flip the switch to light up the community tree.

shannon Shanon Maksymich - Sheep River Health Trust Fund Development and Communications Coordinator

Fund Development and Communications Coordinator for the trust, Shanon Maksymich says that's not all they are winning.

"We are working with quite a few local businesses in Okotoks that have contributed some amazing prizes to bring some extra joy to the kid or the child or youth that wins the experience. So just a big shout out to Boston Pizza, Okotoks Classic Source for Sports, Okotoks Cinemas and Main Street Market. Lots of goodies!"

Those looking to get involved can purchase tickets from their Rafflebox page. One for $5 and five for $20.

The child or youth that gets to flip the switch must be 17 years of age or younger. However, the tickets can be bought by any adult.

"A parent, grandparent, maybe if a teacher has a special kiddo that they're thinking of. A neighbour, yeah, anybody who's 18 plus can purchase the ticket."

The raffle closes on November 15.
