By this time next year grade nine french immersion should be in High River.

Local president of Canadian Parents for French, Adam Vyse,  says they'll keep extending the kindergarten through grade eight program.

"The plan will be to have french immersion from kindergarten through grade twelve," he said.  "So next year would be the first year that our lead class would be scheduled to go jump up to the high school."

Vyse says the board hasn't decided if they'll keep the grade nine's at Senator Riley j or start an eight-nine split at Highwood.
