A former Nanton Town Councillor has decided to rejoin municipal politics by running for mayor.

Charles R.A. Dick Fenton was a member of council from 2004 to 2013.

He decided to jump back in after being unhappy about some of the things going on in the community.

"I have a choice, I didn't like some of the things that were going on," said Fenton. "I have a pretty good knowledge of what happens in the town and what needs to be done."

Two of the issues he wants to work on is improving the water situation and starting to fix old infrastructure like sewer and water pipes.

He adds the water in Town has a bad taste and smell to it.

"We have studied it to death, it is time to take some action on it. We have infrastructure such as water and sewer lines that is 70 plus years old."

He says he wants to see those things improved and he loves the Nanton community.

"I have a pretty good knowledge of the town situation, so it is just a continuation of four years ago."
